ANNOUNCEMENT It is with great personal and professional sadness that we announce to our Hidden Valley Music Seminars family the passing of Conductor, Stewart John Robertson. He was 75 years of age. Stewart was born on May 22, 1948 in Glasgow, Scotland. He attended The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama and Bristol University. He studied piano in London with Denis Matthews and studied conducting with Otmar Suitner at the Mozarteum and with Hans Swarowsky in Vienna. Tien-Hsin Cindy Wu is a world-class violinist who, since 2020, has been living in Corral De Tierra in Monterey County and is now famous also for hosting home concerts in the series she calls “Sunkiss’d Mozart.” Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Wu went to New York City at age 14 to study at the Juilliard School. In 2008, she earned a BA at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia. Inaugurated in 2021, the Festival of Winds series is to young wind musicians what the Emerging Composers Intensive series – which just wrapped up – is to young composers.
