This program of classics is designed with the many facets of "becoming a hero" in mind. From Beethoven's heroic personal struggle with deafness, to again, a literature connection from anotehr hero of the arts, Shakespeare. The program's second half features the work that birthed another hero in music, Johannes Brahms, whose biggest struggle was living in the shadow of the greatness of Beethoven.
